Are all soaps made by refugees?

All soaps are produced and packaged by migrants, refugees and/or asylum seekers.

What is the impact of AMAL?

We are a social business that belongs to the MEERU Abre Caminho Association, a Portuguese non-profit association. By training and employing migrants, refugees and/or asylum seekers, we are directly distributing wealth and responsibility while promoting social and community integration, bringing cultures closer together and contributing to social peace in local communities. We want our beneficiaries to be fully independent, autonomous and integrated into society.

Are the people who make the soaps paid for their work?

Of course! This is a job like any other, aimed at migrants, refugees or asylum seekers.

We understand the needs of these people because we are part of a specialized association focused on this population.

We do not discriminate on the basis of gender, age, nationality or religion.

We want to empower people who are motivated to change their lives and who just need a little help navigating their transition and community integration process.

Can I see the products before purchasing?

If you are in Porto, you can contact us and we can arrange a visit so you can see the products in person before making a purchase.

Another option is to visit one of the many stores in Portugal that sell our products!

Can I visit your production?

Our production facility is a workplace, not a store, so while we would love to have visitors, please contact us in advance to see if it is possible to arrange a visit.

I would like to offer your products as a gift to a friend/family member, do you include personalized messages in orders?

Yes! During the checkout process, please leave a message in the "Notes" section with the message you would like to include inside the box. If you are ordering products for more than one person, we ask that you also include which products should be grouped together, and we will include individual bags inside the box so that you can gift to more than one person.

What can I do if I want a product that is not available?

Do you produce custom soaps?

We love a challenge! Although our time for custom productions is very limited, if you have an idea for a product, you can contact us at hello@amalsoap.com or here .

Do you have a discount for bulk purchases?

If you would like to purchase our products in bulk, please send us an email at hello@amalsoap.com. We always want to find the best solution for all parties involved, but please note that any discounts we make will always mean less value generated to continue supporting the lives of those who need it most.

How long do your orders take to arrive?

We ship orders every Tuesday and Thursday. Therefore, for domestic orders, it usually takes between 1 and 4 days, but sometimes it can take more than 7 days.

For international orders, we cannot guarantee that you will receive your order as quickly as possible. It usually takes between 4 and 14 days for your order to arrive, depending on the country and shipping company.

Do you deliver worldwide?

Yes, we ship internationally! If you are unable to add your country during the checkout process, please email us via the contact form and we will work with you to resolve this issue while improving the website so that you can choose your country.

How much will shipping for my order cost?

The delivery cost depends on the quantity of products you purchase (weight and volume) and the delivery time. These costs are calculated automatically during the purchase process.

If you are in Porto, we encourage you to choose the local pick-up option: it's free and better for the environment!

I have a store and would like to resell your products, what should I do?

To get started, you can visit our Resellers page ( HERE ) and fill out our form! We will contact you and send you the prices and conditions for resale.

We like to have a close relationship with our partners, we want everyone who sells our products to promote our mission, so you can expect some calls and meeting proposals from us.

Can I volunteer to help you with this project?

We are always looking for motivated people who want to do more and contribute! If this project excites you, get in touch with us, tell us why and how you would like to help, and we will get back to you!

I have a brand and would like to propose a collaboration with you, what should I do?

That’s great! We love new ideas and challenges. Whether you have a project that could help refugees or an idea that could complement our products, you can send us an email using the contact form explaining what the collaboration would consist of and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible!

What happens if any of the products are damaged during shipping?

No problem at all. Just send us an email via the contact form or email (hello@amalsoap.com) and we will send you the new products as soon as possible.

In what cases can I return my order?

If we have an open Return Policy, this means that if you are not happy with our products (for whatever reason), you have 30 days to contact us. You can then exchange those products for others or return them, and we will refund your payment.
